slynus - monk daddy
originally focusing on four to the floor straight up techno, linus has made an album that is decidedly different from his previous releases. comprising of ten original tracks, ‘monk daddy’ strays between techno and house whilst at the same time not falling into the category of ‘tech-house’. funky, solid, vibey, clean and hypnotic tunes with a touch of cheese.
it´s an electronic dance album that you can listen to early in the morning or very late at night.

release information
four tracks from the album ‘monk daddy’ are going to be distributed by www.rhythmicnyc.com, in two parts.
part one.
a. side – ‘elvis was indian’ is a bollywood breakbeat jam which has as usual a serious amount of sub bass.
b. side – ‘super sly guy’ is my favourite track off the album. a minimal monster with an infectious groove.
part two.
a. side – ‘musical loops’ is a tribal techno stomper that switches into a funked out breakbeat number. tough and funky.
b. side – ‘son of a monk’ was originally released on a limited promo in 2004. it was made ‘d.j. magazine’s’ booty call tune of the month and was given a great review in ‘mixmag’ as a top ten tune of the month. (below).
‘Picture your most twisted dancefloor moment. Your brain is engulfed in bassline filth. Your mates fear for you. Then a vocal peeps in, turns gurns into smiles and sends the dancefloor into raptures.’
Mixmag, august 2004.
‘Slynus presents this jamming breaks meltdown, which should appeal to fans of Fatboy Slim stylings, using vocal bites from the 60’s classic ‘nothing but a heartache’, dope compressed bassline and phat rockin break beats work it with reverse breakdowns, don’t miss!’
D.J. magazine, (booty call tune of the month), july 2004.
